What the app sends
BigRec Button sends the sound recordings you deliberately make, the recording time and duration, and a random installation identifier. The identifier is created by the app and is used only to group takes from the same installation. The service may also process ordinary network request information, such as an IP address, in security logs.
Why it is used
This data is used only to save each take, retry an interrupted upload, verify delivery, and make the recording available in the private BigRec Button retrieval library. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking, and it is not sold.
Storage and sharing
A take is stored on the device until delivery can be completed and is stored on the BigRec Button server until it is deleted. Anyone with the shared family access word can open the web collection, listen, download, and permanently delete individual takes after confirmation. There are no individual accounts or per-person access restrictions; share the word only with people you trust. Hosting providers also process data to operate the service, not for their own marketing.
The web collection checks the word over HTTPS without saving it and uses a secure, temporary session cookie. Access is free. Deleting a take removes its audio from active server storage; an internal upload record remains to prevent delayed retries from restoring it. Deletion does not remove copies already downloaded by other people. Hosting providers may retain backup copies according to their backup policies.
Your choice
Recording begins only after you tap Record and microphone access is granted. You can stop recording by tapping Stop & send, and you can revoke microphone access in iPhone Settings at any time. To delete one take, open the collection with the access word, choose Delete beside that take, and confirm. To request deletion of a take or all takes from an installation, contact the BigRec Button administrator who supplied your unlisted download link and include the approximate recording date and time.
